Joint Economic Committee With Georgia

Georgia has expressed willingness to launch a “joint economic committee” with Iran, according to Ali Mohammadi, the Iranian consul general in Georgia’s seaside city of Batumi. “The Georgians seek to boost trade exchange with Iran and that is why they are interested in forming a joint committee after nearly 10 years,” he was quoted by Mehr news agency as saying. The official added that Iran has to take necessary steps to seize the opportunity. Pointing to the visa problems faced by Iranians who want to do business with Georgia, Mohammadi said that the issue will be addressed once the committee is formed.
