Iran aims to increase its chicken exports to 100,000 metric tons in the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21); up by 60,000 tons compared with last year, according to Mostafa Yasaiei, a senior official at the agriculture ministry. Iraq, Afghanistan and Tajikistan are the main export destinations for Iranian chicken. “We are planning to include some African countries to the list,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying, noting that Iran began to export chicken in 2013.
