The first session of Iran-France Joint Agricultural Committee is scheduled to be held late May, according to director of international affairs at Iran’s agriculture ministry, Houman Fathi. “The meeting will be held on the sidelines of Agro-Food Exhibition due to be held in Tehran from May 26 to 29,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying.  He said that the aim of the meeting is to see whether or not the previous agreements between the two countries are being implemented. Both Iranian and French agriculture ministers agreed last year that western sanctions imposed on Iran would in no way affect the agricultural cooperation between Tehran and Paris. Both countries agreed to expand cooperation in farming, fisheries and agricultural research. Both sides agreed to form a joint agricultural committee that is tasked with handling the joint projects.
