About 800 kilograms of caviar with the average price of 1,200 euros per kilogram, and a total value of $1.2 million, were exported during the past Iranian calendar year (ended march 20), deputy head of aquatics at Iran’s Fisheries Organization noted on Tuesday, as reported by ISNA. Hossein Abdollahi added that in accordance with the Sixth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2016-2021), a scheme has been devised to develop the production of caviar-producing fish, which will hopefully lead to a threefold increase in Iran’s caviar production in the current Iranian calendar year.
