Based on a recent strategy sketched out by Iran Central Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC) all the inactive cooperatives will be revived within three years, head of ICC Bahman Abdollahi said on Sunday. “We are planning to make use of cooperative capabilities for the development of the economy,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying. There are currently more than 100,000 cooperatives and 680 unions active in different sectors. Last week, deputy minister of cooperatives, labor and social welfare, Hamid Kalantari said the cooperative sector has created more than 1.5 million job opportunities.
