Iran’s water resources supervision index in the second half of the past Iranian year (ended march 20) indicates that 13 provinces are suffering severe water shortage while 7 provinces are facing drought, Mehr news agency reported on Sunday. The Index sorts all the provinces based on the amount of water resources into 6 categories of wet, normal, tolerable, suffering shortage, suffering severe shortage and facing drought. According to the index, the central Kerman and Yazd provinces, the eastern South Khorasan and Sistan-and-Balouchestan provinces and the southern Bushehr, Hormozgan and Fars provinces are facing drought.
