Shrimp Exports to Russia, China

The agriculture minister says agreements have been signed with Russia and China to prepare the ground for the export of high protein food like shrimp between Iran and the two countries, Mehr news agency reported. Mahmoud Hojati referred to the small share of Iran in Russia’s shrimp market however, noting that Russia consumes 200,000 tons of shrimp every year. The minister also referred to the construction of quarantine sites for maintaining food standards and removal of restrictive customs tariffs on exports as the government’s top priority in terms of expanding the export of marine products.
