Isfahan Carpet Exports

More than 2,400 tons of hand-woven carpets worth $20 million were exported from the central Isfahan Province in the past Iranian calendar year (ended march 20), which indicates a $2 million rise from the value registered a year before, announced head of Isfahan’s customs office, Asadolah Vanhari, as reported by IRIB.  There are 480,000 carpet weavers in Isfahan producing 700,000 square meters of hand-woven carpets every year.  Hand-woven carpets are made in cities such as Naeen, Kashan, Isfahan, Shehreza and Najaf Abad, and the export destinations include Canada, Japan and Persian Gulf Countries.
