Move to Improve Workforce Skills

The technical and Vocational Training Organization has launched an exhibition in Tehran to display its recent achievements and provide free skill-focused training services for a group of young Iranians who do not have sufficient skills to handle their jobs properly.
“It is vital for the Iranian youth to become more skill-oriented and acquire technical skills,” Hamidreza Khanpour, director general of TVTO office in Tehran said on Wednesday, as reported by IRNA.
He said wealth would be generated only after skill, motivation, talent and commitment are intertwined and unemployment is addressed.
In a separate development on Wednesday, Minister of Labor Ali Rabiee attended a ceremony to open a textile training and employment park at the technical and vocational center of Eshtehard, a town located in the northern Alborz province.
“TVTO is determined to help resolve the major issue of youth unemployment. To that end, skill development in line with the market’s vocational demands is a must,” Rabiee said.
Skill development is a suitable strategy to prepare the educated job seekers for entering the labor market and the TVTO has focused its training programs on their empowerment, the labor minister stated.
The ministry intends to activate employment agencies, identify and classify the skilled labor force and introduce them to the Mehr Imam Reza Fund to receive financial aid, he said.
In the meantime, an employment policy titled “From Home to Plant” has been developed to be implemented in cooperation with entrepreneurs to provide specialized interdisciplinary education from training stage until product sales. It is also on the agenda of the ministry to boost entrepreneurship through setting up provincial employment funds with the support of charities, entrepreneurs and rehabilitation organization in order to provide for sustainable employment together with educational justice, he explained.
