Iran and Georgia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on passenger and goods transportation, Mohammad Javad Atrchian, head of transit and terminals department of The Islamic Republic of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization (TPO) said on Saturday. The 6th meeting of Iran-Georgia joint commission of international transportation cooperation was held earlier this week to review possible transit routes in the region and reduce transit costs and time. The two sides hailed the increase in trade volume. Georgia negotiated the issue of having its trucks fueled in Iranian territory and announced its readiness to ease export of Iranian commodities to Europe via its Poti and Batumi ports.
