The southwestern province of Ardabil produces 6,000 metric tons of honey every year, Mehr news agency quoted a provincial official with agricultural Jihad as saying. According to Dehghan Bagheri, there are 315,000 beehives in the province, each of which produces 20 kilograms of high quality honey every year. Ardabil exports part of its produced honey to other provinces and part of it to Persian Gulf states, the official added.
