The number of passengers on international flight entering Iranian airports rose by 23% in the first ten months of the current year compared with the similar period last year, managing-director of Iran’s Airport Company, Mohammad Ilkhani, said on Wednesday. “Domestic airports have the annual handling capacity of 83 million passengers, of which 6 million passengers are reported to be using Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) in Tehran,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying. He further said the annual handling capacity of IKIA will significantly increase after the completion of the second phase of the airport, adding: “We welcome the private sectors’ participation in making investment in IKIA’s second phase.”
