International flights in Iran have grown by 25 percent over the past two years, IRNA quoted Ebrahim Shushtari, an official with Airports Holding Company, as saying on Sunday. He cited certain political and economic factors as the reason behind the growth without elaboration.” According to Shushtari, Iran’s airports handle more than 950 domestic flights on a daily basis. “Since August, flights that cross Iranian airspace have increased by 70 percent due to “installation of new navigation systems and safe airspace,” Shushtar said adding that these navigation systems were all produced domestically and cost 120 billion rials.
