Imports and exports nearly stood at the same level from March 20, 2014 to Feb 10, 2015, managing director of Iranian Customs Administration, Masoud Karbasian said on Saturday. According to IRNA, exports value stood at $45 billion and imports value at $46 billion, the official said in the opening ceremony of East Azarbaijan province’s Bonab Customs Office. Highlighting the significance of exports in the national economy, he said transit of goods, too, plays a vital role in improving the state of economy. “Some 12 million tons of various types of goods are transited through the Iranian territory every year,” he added.
