Nearly 500,000 Iranian nationals are employed in engineering and technical sectors of Middle Eastern and Central Asian countries, deputy minister of cooperatives, labor and social welfare, Mohammad Taghi Hosseini, said on Saturday. “More than 8,000 Iranian workers are in different countries in the region since the beginning of the current year (to end March 20),” he was quoted by Eghtesad News as saying. The rate of overseas employment is to increase drastically in the next fiscal year. The deputy minister added that Iranian workers abroad are entitled to all the benefits they receive at home, including the monthly cash subsidies paid by the government on a monthly basis.”
