Domestically manufactured home appliances meet 75 percent of local needs, said Habibollah Ansari, secretary general of the Home Appliance Association, as reported by ISNA on Friday. The official hailed the growing exports of home appliances during the past seven years and said Iraq, Afghanistan, and Sudan are the main destinations for Iranian home appliances. Import tariffs on home appliances have increased this year to 85 percent from 55 percent last year. The home appliances market is gradually recovering, although prices have increased by 8 percent so far.
