The value of ‘suitcase trade’ – purchasing consumer goods where prices are low and later selling them elsewhere for profit – in the first ten months of the current year (March 21-January 20) stood at $67.664 million, which shows a 22.85 percent decrease compared with the similar period last year. ILNA reported on Monday that various types of goods worth $221,000 were traded via suitcase on a daily basis over the period. Astara Customs with $20,383 million ranked first, accounting for 30.12 percent of the suitcase trade in the ten-month period, while Bilesavar Customs with $10,270 million or 15.18 percent and Bajgiran Customs with $9,721 million or 14.37 percent stood in the second and third place respectively.
