    Iran's Trade With Turkmenistan Tops $150m

    Iran traded 257,483 tons of non-oil commodities worth $153.97 million with Turkmenistan during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22).

    This marks a 37.8% and 14.75% decline in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year's corresponding period, data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.

    Iran’s exports to Turkmenistan stood at 249,044 tons worth $149.48 million, down 38.86% and 16.32% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. 

    Turkmenistan was Iran’s 15th biggest export destination during the period.

    Iran mainly exported sugar and potatoes to Turkmenistan during the five-month period.

    Turkmenistan exported 8,438 tons of goods worth $4.48 million to Iran, up 27.01% and 127.84% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. It was the 72nd exporter of goods to Iran over the five months.

    The imports mainly included cotton linter, coke and mineral oils.
