Not only do Iranian lighting products rival those made in Germany and France, they are also exported to Italy, which is a leading country in the industry, said the head of the guild of producers of chandeliers, crystals, and porcelain.
Iran’s lighting products are mainly exported to Central Asian countries as well as the Caucasian region. The industry has the potential to create huge revenue if it receives support from the government, said Ahmad Rahmani during the 22nd international exhibition of lighting products which ended Saturday, IRNA reported on Sunday.
According to Rahmani, investment has substantially grown in the sector. “Every day more innovative products are designed and produced by domestic manufacturers. The industry is currently very profitable and it enjoys a good domestic market”, Rahmani added.
There are 400 factories and workshops across the country manufacturing a wide range of lighting products, including chandeliers and decorative lightings; and employing over 40,000 people directly while creating indirect employment for more than 100,000 others. According to the guild, 70% of the raw materials for these products are supplied domestically.
The 22nd exhibition of lighting products hosted 200 Iranian and foreign companies in 18 halls and was well received by the visitors.
