Major Copper Mine Plans Capacity Expansion

Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex is planning to boost its copper concentrate output capacity from the current 600,000 tons to over 1 million tons by 2022, the company’s deputy manager, Mohammad Ziaodini, said. Established in 1972, the complex operates the open cast Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine in Kerman Province, which is considered to be the second largest copper deposit worldwide.
