The top 50 gold coin dealers have been identified and introduced to the Iranian National Tax Administration, as part of a tax evasion inquiry at a time of high volatility in the gold coin and foreign currency markets. “We have obtained from the Central Bank of Iran the list of 50 people who have made largest purchases of gold coin. The top trader has been identified as a 32-year-old office boy who has bought 38,200 coins,” INTA’s Chairman Seyyed Kamel Taqavinejad said in an interview with state TV on Saturday. Gold coin prices have been on the uptrend ever since the forex market rode the rising trajectory in early April. The government’s intervention to restore market stability has so far proved to be in vain.
