Copper concentrate produced by major Iranian copper firms reached 313,273 tons during the first quarter of the current fiscal year (March 21-June 21), which indicates an 11% growth compared with last year’s corresponding period. Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex accounted for 187,231 tons of the total figure, up 13% year-on-year. It was followed by Sungun complex with 86,924, up 7% YOY, and Miduk complex with 39,118 tons, up 5% YOY, according to data released by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization. The three mines, all of which are subsidiaries of National Iranian Copper Industries Company, produced an aggregate of 70,781 and 53,233 tons of copper anode and cathode, up 56% and 50% YOY respectively.
