Thirty-four containers of contraband fuel were confiscated in the southern Hormozgan Province’s Shahid Rajaee Port last week, the director general of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization said.
“The waybill falsely stated that the shipments were monoethylene glycol [used in the manufacture of polyester fibers and for antifreeze formulations],” Allahmorad Afifipour was also quoted as saying by IRNA on Saturday.
The smugglers were planning to send the containers to India, he added.
