Shiraz International Airport saw a 12% rise in the number of flights during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21) compared with last year’s corresponding period. According to Director General of Fars Province Airports Company Reza Badieifard, the airport registered 8,807 domestic and international flights during the period and transported 888,056 passengers, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news service reported. He added that the number of foreign visitors flying to the airport witnessed a 5% year-on-year growth, going up from 109,219 to 114,313 passengers. The airport transported 2,722 tons of cargo during the three months to register an increase of 19% YOY.
