Field Corn Imports Top $290m in Two Months

More than 1.32 million tons of field corn worth over $296 million were imported into Iran during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21-May 21) to register a 2.6% and 6.1% growth in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year.
Figures released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration also show that this amount of field corn purchase accounted for 25.1% and 4.4% of the volume and value of Iran’s total imports over the period respectively, Mehr News Agency reported.
