The slack domestic market for Iranian cement overseas, which is mainly due to instability in Iraq and insecurity in its borders, has led to an 8.5 percent decline in cement export within the first 8 months of the current Iranian year, which ended November 21. Almost 9.2 million tons of cement have been exported over the period, ISNA quoted Abdolreza Sheikhan, secretary of the Cement Association as saying. He said that finding new markets overseas can improve the outlook of industry, adding that Russia is one of the targets for Iranian cement. Sheikhan went on to say that almost 4.1 million tons of clinker were also exported over the period, which indicates a 50 percent growth compared to last year.
