A new business association has been created for Iranian business owners to develop their business skills in local and international markets.

The announcement was made by Mohammad Sadr-Hashemi, director of the “Founders Association,” during a ceremony held in Tehran earlier this week.

Sadr-Hashemi said the new entity will help business owners develop their skills and their network and eventually will contribute to the economic development.

The former chairman of Tehran chamber of commerce, representatives of industries and trade, and the founder and former CEO of Eqtasad Novin Bank were present at the event.

Sadr-Hashemi said the process to create the association has been “long and arduous, with many people contributing to the creation of the professional organization.”

Hossein Soltania, who holds a chair on the board of directors, said during the ceremony that stagflation were among main challenges the economy will face in the upcoming fiscal year starting on March 21.

He noted that the government has been trying over the past year to exit recession. “But now, the falling oil price is a concerning factor for our economy and will have a knock on to all sectors of the economy beyond oil.”
