Sea Exports Witness 18% Rise

Iranian exports via sea have seen an over 18% rise since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started March 21), the deputy head of Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran said.
“The movement of ships with a displacement of more than 1,000 tons has grown by 8% and the loading and unloading of goods in the country’s ports have increased by more than 8%,” IRNA also quoted Hadi Haqshenas as saying.
Mohammad Saeedi, the CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines, said maritime transportation accounts for 85% of Iran’s foreign trade against the global average of 87%.
Imam Khomeini and Shahid Rajaee ports in southern Iran account for 80% of the total throughput of Iranian ports.
