Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran has moderated prices for the port services it offers as of May 5, the deputy head of the organization said. “PMO’s approach is to ensure high throughput rates, speed up handling of goods, improve transparency of the details of tariff rates and reduce the costs of transit, imports and exports through ports to boost trade,” ILNA also quoted Mohammad Ali Hassanzadeh as saying. Mohammad Rastad, the head of PMO, had earlier said that in line with the new Iranian year’s national goal, “Support for Iranian Products”, and to improve the competitiveness of Iranian ports and non-oil exports, his organization will offer new discounts on service charges that range from 30% to 80%.
