More than 63.9% of Iranians are willing to purchase locally-made products provided they have satisfactory quality and reasonable prices, a survey conducted by Iranian Students’ Polling Agency showed. According to the findings of the survey conducted earlier this month, 25.1% of the participants said they would buy Iranian products no matter what, 9.4% said they prefer foreign products over locally-produced ones under any circumstances and 1.5% had no comment, the Persian Daily Donya-e-Eqtesad reported. The most popular category for domestically-made products was foodstuff with 91% of the participants voting for it and the least popular was electronic and home appliances group with only 31.5% of the respondents voting for it. In a bid to help make the domestic economy more self-sufficient, Iranian authorities have selected the motto of “Support for Iranian Products” in the new Iranian year that started on March 21.
