A ferrochrome plant with a 60,000-ton per year capacity was inaugurated in Kerman Province’s Rafsanjan Special Economic Zone on Thursday.
Launched in the fiscal 2014-15, the project was established using Chinese investment amounting to 4.2 trillion rials ($100 million).
The plant is set to produce ferrochrome with a 60% content, making it the Middle East’s top and the world’s 20th in terms of product purity, IRNA reported.
Ferrochrome, also called ferrochromium, is a type of ferroalloy, that is, an alloy between chromium and iron.
