International Detergent Expo to Open Next Week

The 25th International Exhibition of Detergent, Cleanser, Hygienic Cellulose Products and Machinery, also known as “Iran Beauty and Clean 97”, is scheduled to open at Tehran’s International Fairground on April 26 with the participation of hundreds of domestic and foreign companies.

Over 285 domestic and 135 foreign companies are expected to showcase their latest products and services at the expo, ILNA reported.

Foreign companies from 19 countries, including China, Turkey, Germany, France, Italy, Malaysia, India, Spain, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belarus, Slovenia, Singapore, Portugal, Hong Kong and Brazil, will be among them.

The event is being sponsored by the Iranian Detergent, Hygienic Products and Cosmetics Industries Association and Iranian Association for Hygienic Cellulose Industry.

According to Ali Moradi, the head of the expo’s organizing headquarters, the exhibition has been organized with the aim of attracting domestic and foreign investment, brining prosperity into domestic production, creating opportunities for scientific research, promoting the presale of certain products, introducing new sales representatives, expanding exports, finding new markets, incorporating up-to-date foreign scientific and research standards into Iranian industries, creating jobs and discovering domestic potentials.

The four-day event will conclude on April 29.

According to Jamshid Forouzesh, secretary of Detergent Producers Council, about $200 million worth of detergents are exported from Iran every year. He believes there is capacity to increase the output fivefold, considering that many production units are working under capacity amid stagnant demand in the domestic market.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Central Asian countries and Turkey are the main customers of Iranian detergents.

According to Forouzesh, Iran’s detergent production currently meets 100% of domestic demand.
