Isfahan Hosts PM Auto 2018

The Sixth International Conference on Powder Metallurgy for Automotive Parts, also known as PM Auto 2018 concluded in Isfahan Province on Wednesday. The two-day conference was jointly held by Mashhad Powder Metallurgy Company, Sadjad University of Technology and Austria’s Technische Universitat Wien. Local and foreign participants shared the latest developments in powder metallurgy by presenting scientific articles, IRNA reported. According to conference manager, Abolqasem Arvand, the 10-year hiatus between the last and the current iteration was due to foreign companies’ unwillingness to participate. Powder metallurgy covers a wide range of ways in which materials or components are made from metal powders. Its processes can avoid, or greatly reduce, the need to use metal removal processes, subsequently reducing yield losses in manufacture and often resulting in lower costs.
