The Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare is the state body responsible for determining the poverty line in Iran, the head of Statistical Center of Iran said. Omid Ali Parsa added that it is beyond the SCI purview to calculate the figures about the minimum level of income deemed adequate in the country, ISNA reported. It’s been a while now that the poverty line has been ignored in the country, which means there is no official report to tell the people whether they are above the poverty line with their current income or below it.
