Iraq Tops Countries Using Iran for Cargo Transit

More than 9.5 million tons of commodities were transited through Iran from the beginning of the current Iranian year on March 21, 2017, to March 1, 2018.
The neighboring Iraq, with 2.5 million tons, tops the list of countries that used Iran to transit their goods over the period, ISNA reported. It was followed by China with 1.7 million tons, the UAE with 1.12 million tons, Turkmenistan with 1.11 million tons, Azerbaijan with more than 768,000 tons, Turkey with 623,000 tons and India and Uzbekistan with around 400,000 tons each, the Persian daily Donya-e-Eqtesad reported.
