Major Sodium Sulfate Producer Sees 4% Rise in Output

Iran Mineral Salts Company produced 139,755 tons of sodium sulfate during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Dec. 21), indicating a 4% rise compared with last year’s corresponding period, the company’s manager said. Reza Orouji added that Iran’s annual sodium sulfate output is about 185,000 tons and imports range between 60,000 and 90,000 tons per year based on demand fluctuations. He added that Iran Mineral Salts Company’s output accounts for about 75% of the country’s annual demand for the material. Established in 1984, the company operates two sodium sulfate plants in Semnan and Markazi provinces.
