Companies and industries affiliated with Iran’s Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization have exported $1.3 billion worth of commodities since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2017), the deputy head of ISIPO said on Monday. Farshad Moqimi added that 66,573 jobs have been created in industrial parks, as 40,888 industrial units obtained license during the period, IRNA reported. “Currently, 815,865 people are working in Iran’s industrial parks,” he was quoted as saying, noting that there are 33,012 active units operating across the country. According to Moqimi, 1,143 hectares have been added to industrial parks this year, indicating an 82% rise compared with the previous year (March 2016-17). By definition, enterprises run by 100 workers or less, and 50 workers or less are considered small- and medium-sized enterprises respectively, according to ISIPO.
