TEDPIX Zooms Past 87,000

Tehran Stock Exchange’s main index gained 481.20 points or 0.55% to end Sunday trade at 87,416.6.

TEDPIX crossed its 45-month high of 85,700 recorded on Jan. 15, 2014. The benchmark’s Sunday gain boosted its record by another two days.

The index is closer than ever to breaking its all-time high of 89,500 reached on Jan. 5, 2014.

Shapour Mohammadi, the head of Securities and Exchange Organization, is positive the market will grow further.

“All the factors and companies involved [in Tehran Stock Exchange] are on course to bring about more growth for the [benchmark] index,” he added on Sunday.

About 1.03 billion shares valued at $65.5 million changed hands on Sunday.

Trading at TSE and Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends on Wednesday.

System Group was the biggest riser, going up 4.98% to 4,471 rials per share.

Tuka Transportation Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies, as it went down 5.48% to 1,811 rials per share.

Parsian Oil and Gas Development Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark, followed by Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery and Esfahan Oil Refinery.

Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company weighed the most on TEDPIX, followed by Asan Padrakht Persian and Mines and Metal Development Company.

The Price Index added 154.40 points or 0.55% to close at 28,054.3.

The First Market Index was up 499.20 points or 0.83% to post 60,962.1.

The Second Market Index gathered 196.70 points or 0.10% to reach 192,141.7.

The Industry Index went up by 491.90 points or 0.65% to register 76,521.8.

The Free Float Index was up 344.19 points or 0.37% to hit 94,179.50.

The TSE 30 gained 26.40 points or 0.73% to settle at 3,631.3 while the TSE 50 scored 24.40 points or 0.70% to finish at 3,528.4.

Iran Fara Bourse’s main index IFX gained 8.5 points or 0.89% to close Sunday trade at 960.71.

IFX, too, only requires about 1 point to break past its all-time high record reached last month.

Close to 230.9 million securities valued at $36.5 million were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.

Esfahan Steel Company witnessed the highest number of traded shares, as 37.29 million of its shares were traded.

Zagros Petrochemical Company registered the highest trade value, with the trading of shares worth $2.77 million.

Hotel Parsian Kowsar, Iranian Investment Incorporation and Shiraz Oil Refinery registered the highest value increase.

Shirvan Sugar Company, Afranet and Pardis Housing Investment Company suffered the biggest decline.

Zagros Petrochemical Company, Marun Petrochemical Company and Shiraz Oil Refinery had the most positive impact on the IFB benchmark.
