The construction of Butia Iranian Steel Company’s 5.2-million-ton iron ore pellet plant in Kerman Province is scheduled to be completed by late November, the head of Majlis Economic Commission said. “The plant is already undergoing trial production, which was initiated back in June. Initial investment in the project amounted to 40 trillion rials ($1.02 billion),” Mohammad Reza Pour-Ebrahimi was also quoted as saying by Minews. BIS Company, which is a subsidiary of Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development Holding Company, was first established in 2012 as a pellet, direct-reduced iron and steel producer. The Iran Fara Bourse-listed MIDHCO operates 16 subsidiary companies with assets spanning over different sectors of the mining industry, including steel, iron ore and copper.
