Bank Keshavarzi has opened a center of excellence for the financial empowerment of women, Banker reported. The center is affiliated to the Asia-Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA), of which Bank Keshavarzi is a member.
The APRACA center of excellence for Bank Keshavarzi (ACE-BK) was introduced by its manager, Arghavan Farzin Mo’tamed, during the 65th APRACA executive meeting, which was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka earlier this month.
Addressing the meeting, Mo’tamed outlined the activities and initiatives taken so far. He also presented a video report at the venue, which focused on the activities conducted in the first year of the center’s operations.
ACE-Bank Keshavarzi’s program was established following an agreement between Bank Keshavarzi and APRACA, in close collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) through its joint project on “Green Banking”.
The center aims to lay the groundwork for female financial competency in Iran’s agricultural sector. The center has announced that it also undertakes activities such as holding training seminars and educational courses related to women’s economic empowerment.
In addition, the center is active in setting up special banking and financial services for women, while also improving the current services offered to women in the agricultural sector.
