Close to 50 grades of polymers were listed on board for potential customers on oil and petrochemical trading floor at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on Tuesday, IME’s public relations and international affairs office reported.

According to the report, the oil and petrochemical trading floor also played host to almost 70,000 tons of various polymers produced by local petrochemical complexes. Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), Polyethylene terephthalate, heavy and light polyethylene, Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chemical poly propylene, polypropylene films, and polypropylene for textile were among the polymers offered for trade on Tuesday.

Moreover, 38,000 tons of bitumen of various grades, 10,500 tons of vacuum bottom, and 7,000 tons of sulfur were up for grabs at the IME on the same trading floor.

Khuzestan Steel Company reportedly offered 10,000 tons of slab-c at the base price of 14,320 rials per kg on the industrial and mining trading floor. In addition, based on the market demand, an additional 40,000 tons of the same product was to be traded on the board.

The industrial and mining trading floor also saw trade of 1,040 tons of alloy ingots, and 460 tons of different types of billets offered by Iran Aluminum Company.

The report further mentioned that close to 50,000 tons of granulated iron ore, priced $31 per ton was put up for bids by Iranian Central Plateau Iron ore Mines Complex on the export trading floor. In addition, 13,600 tons of bitumen for various applications, and 100 tons of roof insulation were to be listed for potential overseas customers.

The trading on the agricultural floor included 900 tons of locally harvested corn, priced 8,500 rials per kg. Moreover, 200 tons of Brazilian corn, worth 8,100 rials per kg, was offered to the customers.

Other main trades on the agricultural trading floor were 500 tons of white sugar at the base price of 21,000 rials per kg, 250 tons of cubic sugar priced 18,700 rials per kg, and 205 tons of Russian barely at the base price of 9,580 rials per kg.

According to the report, a total of 240,000 tons of various commodities was traded on the spot market at IME.
