Zurich to Host 4th Europe-Iran Forum in October

The fourth edition of the Europe-Iran Forum has been scheduled to be held in Zurich on October 3-4, 2017.

European business leaders and policymakers will convene with their Iranian counterparts, setting an agenda for trade and investment at the upcoming event.

According to a press release by organizers of the event, Iranian officials are expected to address the 4th Europe-Iran Forum as keynote speakers, Europeiranforum.com reported.

The officials include Mohammad Khazaei, deputy economy minister and president of the Organization for Investment, Economic, and Technical Assistance of Iran; Mehdi Karbasian, deputy industries minister and chairman of Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation; Kazem Sajjadpour, deputy foreign minister; Farzaneh Sharafbafi, the newly appointed CEO of Iran Air and the first woman to lead Iran’s national airline; Mohammad Saeedi, managing director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines; and Masoud Khansari, president of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.

Helga Schmid, secretary-general of the European External Action Service and a key figure in the negotiation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, is also due to give a speech outlining the European commitment to the nuclear deal and the provision of sanctions relief to Iran in exchange for its verified compliance.

Senior diplomats, including Belgian, British, Danish, Dutch and Polish ambassadors to Iran, will also attend the event.

Held since 2014, the forum is the annual gathering for business, government and civil society leaders committed to Iran’s responsible and robust economic development, according to the press release.
