Major Iron Ore Producer to Boost Granulated Output

The Iranian Central Plateau Iron Ore Mines Complex plans to produce 1.2 million tons of granulated iron ore by the end of the current fiscal year (March 2018), company manager, Mohammad Morshedzadeh, announced.

According to the official, 700,000 tons of the total figure will be produced using ore extracted from Chah Gaz Mine, while Mishdavan Mine will supply the rest.

The company produced 744,300 tons of granulated iron ore in the last fiscal year (March 2016-17), according to statistics published by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization.

ICEP is a subsidiary of Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company and operates a host of Iranian iron ore mines.

Iran is home to 5.1 billion tons of estimated and 3 billion tons of proven iron ore reserves, IRNA reported.
