No Sudden Home Price Hike

As attested by officials in the past few weeks, there will be no surprise price hike similar to the ones witnessed a few years ago, assured a deputy minister of roads and urban development. “It is predicted that in the current year, price hikes would also be in line with the inflation rate and we will not see a sudden increase in prices,” Hamed Mazaherian also told YJC. Noting that between 2005 and 2013 (when former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was in office) home prices increased sixfold, the official said that in the past four years (the tenure of incumbent President Hassan Rouhani) price hikes have remained in the 10% range that is close to the inflation rate of about 8%.
