$4.5b in Loans to SMEs Create 7,000 Jobs

Seven thousand jobs were created following the government’s allocation of $4.5 billion in loans to small- and medium-sized enterprises in the fiscal March 2016-17, the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade announced. The loans were granted to more than 24,000 SMEs that operated below capacity, the ministry’s official news service Shata reported. Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Tehran and East Azarbaijan provinces received a majority of loans on a descending order. Some 96% of all the licensed Iranian businesses are considered small- and medium-sized enterprizes.
