Iran Cement Industry Operating at Half Capacity

Iran’s cement industry is operating at half capacity, the deputy head of Cement Employers Association said. Even so, Morteza Lotfi added, there is not enough demand inside the country, IRNA reported. The industry has the capacity to produce 102 million tons of cement per year. Iran exported 11.5 million tons of cement during the 11 months of the last fiscal year (2016-17), Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said. Iran is currently the world’s seventh largest cement producer.
