BMI to Open Najaf Branch

In line with Bank Melli Iran's activities in Iraq, the bank is going to open a branch in the shrine city of Najaf in the near future while starting a branch in Karbala is also on its agenda, said the CEO of BMI."Negotiations are underway with the Central Bank of Iraq to offer better services to Iranian pilgrims, which is only possible if their banking infrastructure improves," Mohammad Reza Hosseinzadeh said in a meeting with Seyyed Ali Qazi-Askar, representative of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for hajj and pilgrimage, BMI's website reported. Qazi-Askar suggested BMI come up with a pilgrims' credit card for Iranians, which can be used in Iraq and Saudi Arabia to increase their financial safety.
