CBI Responsible for Banking Data

The Central Bank of Iran must be the only state organization officially releasing statistics pertaining to the assets of banks, the director general for banking affairs at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance said."Determining which assets and finances of the banks are in excess and which are not is the responsibility of the central bank and therefore all numbers and data related to them must also be provided by this entity," Ali Movahednejad was also quoted as saying by Banker.ir. Noting that the Economy Ministry and its Office for Banking and Insurance Affairs are doing all it can to reassign the excess assets of banks, the official hoped that following previous years' improvements in the economy and the market, conditions will become more agreeable for getting rid of the assets.
