Mouteh Gold Mine produced 295 kilograms of gold bars in the 10 months to January 19, registering a 45% growth compared with last year’s corresponding period. The mine’s output for the Iranian month of Dey (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) stood at 47 kilograms, up 135% year-on-year. Iran first extracted the precious mineral from Mouteh Gold Mine, which is located in Meymeh County in Isfahan Province. It holds 1.2 million tons of proven gold reserves with a grade of 4 grams per ton. According to Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, Iran’s annual 2.5-ton gold output accounts for 1.5% of the world’s total gold production, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization reported on its news portal.
