Fars Province has attracted about $1.8 billion worth of foreign investments since the beginning of Hassan Rouhani’s presidential term in August 2013, according to the provincial governor general. “After the nuclear agreement was signed between Iran and world powers in July 2015, 37 foreign delegations have paid visits to the province,” Mohammad Ali Afshani was quoted as saying by IRNA. Agriculture is of great importance in Fars and its major products include wheat, barley, citrus fruits, dates, sugar beets and cotton.
